About Goobertown Hobbies
Welcome to Goobertown!
Join me as I paint minis. I'm painting up my backlog of sci-fi and fantasy miniatures and documenting it in 4k. I've been painting Warhammer models on and off for about 10 years, and I'm always trying new things and pushing myself further. I've also branched into games like shadespire, kill team, guildball and malifaux. Some videos will be hobby blogs about particular squads, units, teams, or armies. Others will be one-off models where I strive to learn a certain painting technique or evoke a particular emotion.
In addition to being an amateur mini painter, I'm also a professional chemist. I'm on a quest to thoroughly understand what all my paints, glues, thinners, and putties do on the molecular level. I want this channel to be an accurate (yet accessible) resource on topics like cyanoacrylate glue, acrylic medium, and pthalo blue pigment. I also want to tackle color theory from a viewpoint of of a spectroscopist to better understand the color wheel!
