Wood Turning Avoid Those Nasty Carbide Catches
I show how I avoid the nasty catches using carbide cutters.
Carbide cutters are basically scrapers. What is important is the position of the tool based on the center of the turning.
I also show some of my old pattern making turning tools and some very large turnings.

This is the second tangent stave turning I have done. Because the pieces were long and narrow it was a bit tricky making sure I had stock to turn a shape . I like the shape I ended up with.
Made from Padauk, Maple and Sapele.

This beautiful piece of English Walnut came from our friends tree.
It is full of very pretty grain with lots of contrast.
Always fun turning English Walnut and it gave me time to work on another crazy glue up coming soon.
