About Lovely Greens
Hi and welcome! I’m Tanya Anderson, organic gardener, soap maker, beekeeper, and green living enthusiast on the Isle of Man. I'm also the author of the new book, A Woman's Garden Grow Beautiful Plants and Make Useful Things. Here on Lovely Greens, I share regular garden tours and gardening tips featuring both my allotment and home garden. I also share ways to use homegrown and recycled materials to make DIY projects including pallet projects and handmade soap.
I often am asked what zone I'm growing in...Technically I'm zone 9a but because of being so far north, our winters are darker, longer, and have longer periods of cold than other places with 9a. That means I can't grow a lot of the same warm-weather plants as you could in N Florida! Think of my garden as having a similar climate to parts of the PNW of the USA (zone 8).
