About Tinna Thorudottir Thorvaldar
Tinna Þórdóttir Þorvaldar (b. 1981) is a textile artist from Iceland who mainly does crochet, embroidery and yarn bombs. She is the published author of three crochet books, Thóra (2011), María (2013) and Havana Heklbók (2016), and the editor of Heklfélagid (2014). She learned the crafts from her grandmother and great grandmother as a child and has crocheted, knitted and sewed ever since. From the fall of 2012 Tinna has worked professionally as a textile artist. Tinna was one of five artists featured in the documentary Yarn (2016). She has taught crochet classes independently since 2009. In 2017 she didi her first art shows, one in Tokyo and another one in her hometown of Reykjavík.
