About OKportugal
We're Ken and Gina and we created the YouTube channel OKportugal to document Ken's "midlife crisis" and our escape from the Rat Race!
Ken is originally from Cape Town, South Africa and Gina is from Southeast of England. We lived together in the UK for 17 years with our two cats Nanook and Mecho plus our big hairy DogDog Massak.
For many years we talked about leaving England and moving somewhere warm and sunny. We finally got our act together in September 2019 to escape the UK before the dreaded Brexit.
We sold our house, bought Bob, a tiny motorhome and drove all of our pets and prized belongings to Portugal (A country we had only visited for a week!) We had no idea where we were going, or if we would succeed, but we managed to buy an amazing 3 and a half hectare farm December 2019.
