Yogetsu Akasaka is a Zen Buddhist priest, live-looping artist, and meditation musician merging ancient traditions with modern soundscapes. His performances combine handpan melodies, beatboxing, and Buddhist mantras, creating transformative, improvised music that embodies Zen’s philosophy of treasuring each moment.

During the pandemic, his “Heart Sutra Beatbox Remix” went viral on YouTube, reaching millions. This success led to performances at festivals like Wonderfruit (Thailand), Shambala (UK), and Colors of Ostrava (Czech Republic), as well as at SXSW in 2023 and 2024.

Yogetsu also brings his unique fusion of music and mindfulness to wellness conferences. His workshops, including Voice Meditation and Active Meditation, integrate breathwork with improvised music, helping participants reconnect with themselves and experience healing through Zen-inspired mindful presence.
