About Marijke Violin
The adventures of an adult beginner violinist.
In May 2016, at age 26, I fulfilled a lifelong dream: learning to play the violin. It's a challenging but amazing journey! On this channel I share my progress, performances, musical adventures and advice.
My name is Marijke. I work three days a week as a teacher in elementary school and I'm a freelance graphic designer on the side. I live with my husband in a cozy town in The Netherlands.

• Are you self-taught on the violin or do you have a teacher?
I have been taking private lessons from the start.
• What brand violin do you have?
At first I rented a violin at the luthier. After a year, I could rent a better violin from the music school where I have my lessons. In February 2020, after almost 4 years of playing the violin, I bought my very own violin, built by Roderich Paesold in 2017.
