About Tempo
David Sánchez Badillo, known as Tempo, is a Puerto Rican rapper born in 1977. He became an iconic figure in urban music with his versatile style, spanning rap, reggaeton, hardcore, and trap. Tempo rose to fame in the late 90s with raw, street-inspired lyrics, especially through his album Game Over (1999). His career was interrupted in 2002 by an unjust drug trafficking conviction, leading to years in prison. After a successful "Free Tempo" campaign, he was released in 2013 and returned to music with hits like "No se dan cuenta" and "Vuelve el León." Tempo is seen as a pioneer of reggaeton and an influential voice in the genre.
