--}How I met the Amish
My name is Erik Wesner - and I'm not Amish.
But I've gotten to know them fairly well over the last 16+ years.
I first met the Amish in 2004 - randomly - in a community in central Illinois. Selling books door-to-door.
Through that job, I ended up visiting over 5,000 Amish homes.
I started a blog, Amish America, in 2006 to share my experiences and provide reliable information.
In 2010 my first book was published, on Amish business. Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh called it "an intriguing look at an uncommon business community."
I love visiting new Amish communities, staying with Amish friends, and learning more about this unique group of people.
I've made some good friendships along the way.
